Some great play by the Hippos resulted in a 4-2 victory over the teachers. Only some great goalkeeping by Dianna's brother helped the teachers come so close. Bilal Kayed scored the first goal, making two games in a row he has scored.
Omar Helawa scored two goals and made some good saves when he was the goalie. Khaled Abu Gosh was strong on defense and in goal as well. He also earned a penalty when Ms. Kaitlin pushed him to save a goal.
Sami Kilani scored the final goal after some great work from Hassan Khouly. Waleed Titi also created a goal for Omar with a beautiful corner kick.
All of our boys played well. Osama Titi put in some excellent time on the left wing and at center forward. Ahmd Quaraish was also solid for the Hippos.

It looked like the match would finish 1-1 but then Sena Kayed scored a goal for Karma's team. Great job Sena!!!!

Hippos A Logbook
We now have a logbook to record which students are working hard in Hippos A. The only students allowed to use the book are the Assistant Coach and the Captain.
We are going to rotate captains every two weeks. Our first captain is Mohammed Sindi. Our Vice-Captain is Ziyad Kurdi. The Vice-Captain takes over if the captain is hurt or can't play.
Khaled Abu Gosh is our assistant coach.

Volleyball, Boxing, and Football
Today we started learning a few new things. As always we started by playing Ms. Kaitlin dodgeball. We play that by getting all the balls and throwing them at Ms. Kaitlin.
From there we moved on to beginning volleyball. We practiced passing for a while. Its a hard thing to learn but we are getting the hang of it.
Then we split into two groups. The group with Ms. Kaitlin practiced football and the group with Mr. Sean worked on some boxing. (Don't worry parents we will never box against other students).
The best boxers were Noor Maslamanny, Qamar Anibtawi, and Dianna Deria.
Then we finished up with a football match. It was a fun day. Can't wait for Wednesday.

Today's Practice
Today A and B practiced together. We did a lot of running and the partnership of Tariq and Waleed won the sprints. Ahmed Q. and Montasser won the long distance run. Ahmed Q. is getting much better and is winning more playing time on Hippos A.
First A played B and the final score was 1-1. Omar Halawa scored for A and Mahmoud scored for B.
After that match we played fourth grade against fifth grade. Fifth grade won that one 1-0 with Tariq Shaheen scoring the goal. There might be a match for A on Tuesday.

Hippos A Loses to Hippos B

Today at Hippos B practice we played a match between Hippos B and some of the boys from Hippos A. Hippos B came out on top 1-0. The star of the match was Dawood Amad who scored the goal for Hippos B and, along with Montasser Maslamani, made an important stop on the goal line when Hippos A was about to score. Great work Hippos B.
